My mother and father divorced when I was very young and after the divorce my dad frequented in and out of our lives. I have 2 other younger siblings. If I do not make the effort to make contact with him my father does not. And so I made the choice to not text or call him from late November to see what would happen, it is almost 2 months and no communication.
I see his WhatsApp statuses and it hurts to know he is happy and okay without me. My mom thinks I should just let go, but I cannot.
He is still my dad and I love him Any advice would be helpful.
Have you ever dealt with a parent who is emotionally unavailable?

Sabelo is in his mid twenties and even though he is an adult now he wishes that he had the kind of relationship his peers have with their parents.
