South Africans are resilient people.

We have been tested in many ways and always come out on top. Whether through natural disasters, surviving harsh crimes or pushing through tough times, we can always find something to laugh about and move forward.

Let's call it a South African thing. We are happy to own that.

In a video, a man shows us a stack of cash loaded into his wallet

Inside the wallet, he mostly has R200 and R100 notes. He then closes up his wallet and places it in his pocket, takes a lock, secures it onto his jeans pocket, and clicks it into place.

His insinuation that he has to go to this extreme to protect his money leaves us laughing out loud.

Watching videos like this makes us hopeful that we can always rise from any challenge. Even though crime is a part of our lives, a part that won't quickly leave us, we can always laugh about the things that people do to protect their belongings.
