We've seen many things in South Africa that are surprising. We've learned that part of being South African means expecting the unexpected.
Whether that means seeing someone swinging on the back of a truck or using a karaoke microphone to speak to others in a taxi, the unexpected is limitless.
We love this trait; it reminds us of our diversity and how lighthearted we can be as a nation.

The man waiting with his horse at the McDonald's collection window is seen taking his ice-cream cone, which he then hands over to a younger boy (also on a horse).
Horse riding, particularly horse racing, is an avid pastime for many South Africans. And as KZN gears up for the Hollywood Bets Durban July this coming weekend, we are hoping that this is a lucky omen for the punters.
