From "Lacoste" to "lekker slapp", this trend has Afrikaans teachers around Mzansi in a fritz and the rest of us in tears.
Here are some of the most hilarious responses we came across:

- "Kyk uit!! Nee die crocodile gaan jou gebite" - Look out!! No the crocodile will bite you
- "Gevaar, Gevaat, GEVAAAR LACOSTE"-
Danger, Sense, DANGER, Fashion brand with a crocodile as the main logo (Lacoste) - "7 de laan"- Afrikaans television series
- "Basop my brother" - The intended word is pasop and it means beware
- "Die krock is agter jou gat" - The croc is behind your backside

Many "taal talkers" are beside themselves. "This challenge sended me. Literally took me out" shares one and "this is like when my English airtime runs out" shares another.
While many of us sit and contemplate the validity of Matric Afrikaans marks, we are eager to see how this challenge will go in isiZulu, isiXhosa, Sesotho, and more.
