Former YoTV star gets real with Mzansi on social media
Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu
Sade Giliberti, a former YoTV star, is surprised by the stream of positive comments from people who grew up watching her.

Social media has done wonders for the world. It has been something of a plus in many people's lives in staying touch with trends, news, and communication.
However, it has also been a source of negativity.
For one, there is the ease in spreading fake news and on the other hand there is the fact that social media can negatively impact people's mental state of minds.
It can be difficult to attain that airbrushed look, with rosy cheeks and hairstyles on fleek.
Sade Giliberti, a well-seasoned TV presenter many of us remember from her days on YoTV, recently made a very good point about social media.
The TV presenter, who is engaged and based in London, United Kingdom, still uses her voice for good as a member of the LGBTQI+ community. And she did just that, using her voice without so many words to address the 'filters' that social media has placed on life, particularly the defiance of ageing.
In a video that she posted to TikTok, she addressed how people want her to look, how South Africans on TikTok see her now, and how she looks naturally.
She didn't expect to see the outpouring of love and support she received in the comments section, with fans coming to her aid.
Many people thanked her for being part of their childhood and essentially bringing them up, in a way.
Sade: "Tjo... when I said the comment section is yours, I didn't expect this 🥹☺️. 657 comments later, and y'all are the ones I appreciate 🫶🏼🫶🏼 Thank you for being au naturale with me"
- "Sade it feels like Another life and timeline we were watching u on Yo TV as little kids with the whole world ahead of us"
- "Feels like yesterday when I came back from school to watch Wild Room Snack Attack part in my uniform."
- "Sadé to us South African millenials whose parents refused to pay for Mnet for Ktv you will always be Iconic! We love you"
- "Ooh Sade my dear❤️❤️you’re still as gorgeous as ever"
