Former Miss World says that she cheats on her partners because of a disorder

This might just be the most creative excuse we've ever heard...
Most people would agree that there is no justification for cheating. Look, we're not judging at all, because... different strokes for different folks - we're just curious about this one.

Kanika Batra however feels like she has a valid reason for her behaviour.
There's no denying that the former Miss World Australia is attractive and must be on the receiving end of many a compliment, but just like every other human being, she seeks validation from her peers.

It's just how we are as people.
The only difference is that her methods of seeking validation would generally be frowned upon by isocietal standards'.
Kanika has a narcissistic personality disorder.

Narcissistic personality disorder 'is a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others.'
In a recent interview, Kanika explained that she can't internally validate herself which means she is constantly seeking affirmation from others, and if she doesn't receive it, it can take her to a very dark place.
When I get positive comments it's wonderful and I do feel them - but they don't tend to stay with me. They are very fleeting. However, if I do start getting insults, those do really hurt more than I could possibly explain. I have irrational reactions sometimes when I feel the narcissistic supply draining - I'm so used to external validation that I don't know how to produce internal validation.- Kanika Batra

But that's not all.
Kanika has also been diagnosed with anti-social personality disorder (ASPD) causing her to lack guilt and empathy which has led to her sabotaging many meaningful relationships.

Luckily, she's worked hard with a professional to deal with her traits and unlearn this behaviour. - she's even happily engaged!
I just didn't have that sort of regard for that person because it didn't make me feel bad to see somebody else. It didn't make me feel guilty. I didn't get home and then like, not sleep at night because I had betrayed somebody. It's easy for us to switch that part off [and] compartmentalize. The main difference is that now I do respect my partner. I do understand that his needs need to be met as well as my own.- Kanika Batra
We know just how much mental health issues cause many of us to act out in different ways, buy, hopefully, Kanika and her partner will have many happy years together.
