Former America’s Next Top Model contestant accuses Tyra Banks of mistreatment
Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu
It has been revealed how much the show’s contestants actually made on the show.
Tyra Banks is once again being dragged.
These new revelations come just after the host had to address some of the show’s more questionable moments.
Previously, viewers had dragged Tyra for how she treated Season Six winner Danielle Evans, after she was told she needed to undergo reconstructive dental work to be “more marketable” but the model had refused to get it done.
Now another former contestant, ANTM season nine alum and former plus-size model Sarah Hartshorne, 34, has revealed to the New York Post how much the contestants were earning per episode and how they were mistreated on the show.
We were not paid at all for being on the show. We were given a $38 daily cash stipend that we had to use to pay for our own food. And they didn’t even give us a microwave to heat the food up.- Sarah Hartshorne

Sarah chose to expose Banks and her fellow guest judges after people discovered how much Tyra was earning.
While the models were making R605 per day, Tyra had banked $30 million for a 12 month period as creator and host of the show.
Hartshorne says that she doesn’t regret doing the show but she knows a lot of people who do and she understands why.
She says the power dynamic on set, the rules and contracts made it very hard to leave. Apparently the producers work very hard to discourage that type of behaviour.
Production kept us in the dark about almost everything because they wanted to keep us on edge. Us being confused, tired, stressed, sleep-deprived and hungry just made for better TV. We never knew where we were going at any given time. They would transport us from place to place in a windowless van and we’d have to face every situation totally clueless and out of sorts.- Sarah Hartshorne
Tyra Banks, nor her representatives have yet responded to the latest claims.
