Five 'normal' things your family does that may be toxic
Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu
Is blood really thicker than peace of mind?
Every family has its dirty laundry. It's time we air it out and see what subtle stains are being left behind...
Actions speak louder than words and a lot of the time there is more to it than what meets the eye.
Your 'normal' actions may be the result of unnecessary family tension.

1. Not having a filter
Why is it that families think they can express every single opinion they have as well as pass judgement on their family members? Who asked, seriously?
People have enough pressure from societal standards, their own insecurities and issues, and now on top of that family pressure is added. Come on, Karen.
The things that we say and do around our family help define us into who we are. Just because no one else is watching doesn't mean we shouldn't be mindful, compassionate, and understanding in the way we interact.

2. Competing with neighbours

4. Caring too much about what other's think
Similar to keeping up with the Jones', families need to take a chill pill. Care less about what people think and more about what the heart desires.
Live your life for you and not anybody else.
5. WhatsApp groups
If your family group hasn't been muted or archived at one point, is it even your family group?
Similar to sharing too much information, we don't need to talk every hour of the day on there.
Keep it concise. The family group can't be sending me more messages than what I get in my spam folder every day.
