When attending museums and exhibitions of any kind, one thing that you might see are signs warning you against touching the pieces.

Sometimes, on a few very rare occasions, they might even warn you (or maybe little kids) that you should definitely not be climbing on any of the exhibits.
And if that wasn't enough to stop you, may this story be a true cautionary tale.

Local officers in Catalonia, the northeastern region of Spain, received a very distressing call from a father and son who had been visiting a statue in the town of Santa Coloma de Gramenet.
The father had noticed something strange about the dinosaur and was horrified to find on closer inspection that there was a dead man stuck inside the statue. There had also been a very distinct smell surrounding the papier-mâché statue.

The regional police force, the Mossos d’Esquadra, is now investigating the death of the 39-year-old man but it is not being treated as suspicious.
At this point in time, it is theorised that the man had dropped his cellphone inside the statue and proceeded to climb into it headfirst in order to retrieve it.

Unfortunately, this is where he then got stuck and was unable to receive any help in getting out of the statue.
A spokesperson for the Mossos d’Esquadra says that they needed extra assistance from the firefighters in order to cut the dinosaur open and remove the body from the statue.
We found the body of a man inside the leg of this dinosaur statue. It’s an accidental death; there was no violence. This person got inside the statue’s leg and got trapped. It looks as though he was trying to retrieve a mobile phone, which he’d dropped. It looks like he entered the statue head first and couldn’t get out. We’re still waiting for the autopsy results, so we don’t know how long he was in there, but it seems he was there for a couple of days.- The Mossos d’Esquadra spokeswoman

Local media sources have also now confirmed that the man's family had reported him missing only a few hours before he was discovered.
This tragic story of this accident just proves that you can never be too careful.
