DJ Fresh denies rape allegations, educates those who make light of GBV
DJ Fresh has been called a "rapist" by an unknown lady on social media, something which he strongly denies.
A girl with the Twitter handle, @Nampree, has taken to social media to claim that DJ Fresh and Euphonik were involved in raping her.
She wrote a thread on Twitter claiming that she was drugged, raped, and laughed at by the men the next morning. She says she was a virgin when the rape took place.

This accusation comes after DJ Fresh was accused of being an abuser, also on social media.
Twitter came for the lady in question, but some stuck by her side, calling out DJ Fresh and saying he needs to follow R Kelly and go to jail for his actions.

It took R Kelly's rape victims years upon years to speak out. There are others who never came out still.

But you don't have to go out of your way to fight a lady that says he raped her.
Rape cases are often very complex. Calling someone a liar for being unable to prove their claims is rather insensitive, and perhaps inhumane too.
In a bid to get both sides of the story, we were able to reach DJ Fresh's team, who furnished us with a statement from the DJ.
I am aware that assertions have been made about me on social media and I understand that this is often the price of being in the public eye. The fact that these claims are untrue and from an unknown source, does not make them less hurtful. Furthermore, I am deeply concerned that spurious allegations about GBV – especially as it is one of the most significant societal challenges in South Africa – undermine the gravity of legitimate incidents, and impact the urgency with which they are attended. Each time someone succumbs to the temptation of using GBV to further personal agendas, the cause to eradicate this scourge takes a step backwards. Please, should you have a substantiated concern or be the victim of a genuine case of GBV, I urge you to immediately go to your local police station and lay a charge. Pursuing the matter through a legal and criminal process is the best way to ensure that you get the protection you need.
