Dutch doors open for these SA skills
Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu
With world-class healthcare facilities, competitive salaries and a great work-life balance, it's the perfect destination for skilled South Africans.

The Netherlands is facing significant shortages in healthcare and engineering professionals and it's looking to South Africa to fill this gap.
A new recruitment company, Beaver Recruitment SA, has emerged to help recruit and train South Africans to work in the Netherlands, reports BusinessTech.
According to managing director Nicholas Avramis, the demand for South African skills in the Netherlands is growing, particularly in the healthcare sector.
The Netherlands offers attractive benefits, including world-class healthcare facilities, competitive salaries, and a fantastic work-life balance. The Dutch government also provides a 30% tax exemption for highly skilled migrants, making it an appealing destination for skilled professionals.
With a growing number of South Africans already living in the Netherlands, estimated at 41,300, the country is becoming an increasingly popular choice.
Beaver Recruitment SA is prioritising the recruitment of healthcare professionals, including nurses, midwives, and mental health nurses. These professionals can expect salaries ranging from €35,000 (R752,858) to €50,000 (R1,075,512) per year.
The company is also looking for Afrikaans-speaking South Africans, as they can easily integrate with the Dutch language.
The Netherlands' immigration policies are designed to be welcoming, with relatively straightforward work permits for skilled professionals. The country's urban centres, such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Utrecht, offer vibrant job markets and a high quality of life.
Avramis emphasised that many South African healthcare workers are looking for stability, career progression, and a better quality of life, which the Netherlands can provide.
Beaver Recruitment SA is committed to guiding these professionals every step of the way, from job placement to visa applications and cultural integration.
The company is currently accepting applications from qualified South African nurses and healthcare professionals who are interested in working in the Netherlands.
To be eligible, candidates must have a valid South African Nursing Council (SANC) registration and be willing to complete Dutch language training.
