The UK's Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Thérèse Coffey, may have been interviewed, but another doctor was the star of the show. 

Dr Dre unapologetically stole the show and took headlines after the deputy's phone rang with one of his famous songs as the alarm.

The 50-year-old was being interviewed on LBC Radio on Wednesday morning when listeners were unexpectedly treated to the US rapper’s tune.

This interview interruption has since exploded on the internet, however, some fans are suspicious as to whether this was planned.

Hundreds took to social media shortly after, criticising Coffey's unprofessionalism and musical choices.

One user wrote: "A key component of managing health and social care is health promotion and the individual's responsibility for self - Coffey can't even do that!"

In the video, Dr Thérèse says, “You’re getting a bit of Dr Dre. It’s just an 8 o’clock alarm, sorry, let me just turn that off,” as the rapper’s 1999 hit with Snoop Dogg rang out.

Many have questioned why she had this alarm and what it symbolises.

On the other hand, some users provided clarity on the situation saying that rather than focusing on the health professional's private choices, look at her public ones.

This controversy is still on the up and we doubt it will die anytime soon. 

Well, Dr Dre did say that he needs a doctor... maybe Thérèse took these words to heart?
