Not so long ago, we came across a shocking story of one of our listeners who sleeps on the same bed that her husband's parents did.
A series of events have led Stacey and J Sbu to start the conversation and break the cycle of generational mattresses.
"A mattress is not a family heirloom. This is distressing and we need to do something about it," says Stacey Norman.

It came as shock when one ECR listener revealed that she and her husband sleep on a bed that is 34 years old! Listen to what transpired on air:
"Mattresses are incredibly expensive, but, no, this woman cannot sleep on the same mattress that her husband was conceived on!" expressed Stacey and J Sbu.

Here are some tips on when it's time to change your bed:
- If it’s 6-8+ years old
- It’s negatively affecting your sleep
- It’s noticeably saggy or damaged in certain areas
- It’s making more noise than usual (noisy springs are common in old innerspring mattresses)
- You find that you sleep better at hotels, friends’ houses, etc.
- You notice an increase in allergies and/or asthma
- You regularly wake up with muscle or joint stiffness
