Is there an unwritten rule when it comes to paying for your dates travel costs?

We all know that there are certain expectations that come with dating, particularly when it’s one party initiating the date, right?

There is much debate around if chivalry is dead. Contributing to the debate is the notion of "where do we draw the line between chivalry and being independent or having a 50/50 relationship?"

In a traditional sense, one party will normally offer to fetch the other or both parties will meet at the designated location. Due to the increased cost of maintaining a car, many people are relying on lift services. 

This suggests that many people would prefer to use a  lift service to a date.

  • "Mmmhhh I would pay for her transport as a token of appreciation for taking time from her day to come and listen to me when she didn't have to.."
  • "Each must pay for their own transport"
  • "Depends on who has the most expectations...."
  • "The one who paid for the ride from home to the date, should be generous enough to pay for the ride back home. That should answer the question..hopefully!"

As determined above, it is really a personal and circumstantial choice when it comes to paying for your dates ride.

Expectations bring disappointment so to stay on the safer side; you should always accommodate for getting home.
