Do you have a friendly relationship with someone you work with that is of the opposite sex?
We have heard of work besties, but taking things up a notch, we have also heard of work wives/husbands.
A work spouse has been defined as “a special, platonic friendship with a work colleague characterised by a close emotional bond, high levels of disclosure and support, and mutual trust, honesty, loyalty, and respect”.

Stacey and J Sbu have very strong feelings on the matter and have decided to reach out to fellow East Coasters as seen below:
Upon further investigation, we find that in some instances the work spouse is harmless, but other times can leave the real-life partner feeling insecure.
In a similar way, the work spouse gets exclusive access and is privy to certain information that the real spouse doesn't have. One can find benefits for each side, however, one thing is certain, a majority of the time there is some type of conflict.

Contrastingly, a work spouse can often be a godparent or friend to the couple. In other cases, where both work spouses are single, they can find advice and refuge in one other.
All of this come down to the question as old as time, "Can guys and girls be friends?".
