Commuter moves around NYC Subway with his snakes

Travelling on the subway or train is already a cramped experience, now imagine adding snakes to the mix...

First, we saw Snakes on a Plane, and now it seems this New York resident was testing the field by bringing snakes on a train.

In South Africa, we are known for our ability to push the boundaries, but perhaps this New York man is capable of more. In a video shared on Instagram, we see a man seated on the Subway train with not one but two large snakes coiled around him.

One is coiled around his neck and another is around his arm.

Watch as he holds them so calmly, pay attention to the woman beside him.

Snakes are considered exotic pets, and people require special licenses to keep them. Even though not all snakes are venomous, they can cause a significant amount of stress if seen in public.

"Under NEMBA, specific permits or authorizations may be required for the keeping of pythons or other reptiles as pets. The permits are issued by the relevant provincial authority, which in the case of KwaZulu-Natal would be the KwaZulu-Natal Ezemvelo Wildlife (KZN Wildlife).

Pythons require appropriate enclosures that meet their specific needs regarding space, temperature, humidity, and security. The enclosure should be designed to prevent escape and ensure the well-being of the python. Adequate care must be provided, including feeding, handling, and veterinary attention." (RajaramMvulane)

Considering that this is the case in South Africa, similar laws might exist in the the USA, which could mean that this man was in contravention of reptile law for moving around with his snakes in public.
