Co-workers and debt: How do you ask for your money back?

Money makes the world go round, but it can also put a strain on your relationships, be they romantic, platonic, or familiar.

When it comes to relationships, there are many different outside influences that can cause stress and issues for the people involved.

Unexpected prenuptial agreements can catch people off-guard and make them question the connection.
Sometimes friends can make you feel terrible about your salary and the fact that you can't necessarily afford the activities they want to partake in.

And let's not even get started on borrowing and lending money!
Whether it's to friends or family, if they were to ask you for a few Rands, you would probably want to help them out and give it to them.

Then the days start passing by, days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months, and then before you know it, that awkward moment approaches where you have to approach them and sheepishly ask for your money back.
And it feels even weirder if the amount is more than just R100.
That brings us to today's #TheFixer situation.

If you don't know yet, #TheFixer is a feature on Stacey and J Sbu's show in which the duo gives KZN listeners an opportunity to share their dilemmas that they seek advice on. Together with the help of fellow KZN listeners, Stacey and J Sbu try to help the concerned party fix their problem.
Listener Keegan found himself in this precise predicament. Except things are even more complicated because he loaned his colleague some money.

Now he doesn't know what to do. The co-worker has started avoiding him and when their paths do cross, he needs to remind him every time that he STILL hasn't paid him back.
Since it's not one of his friends, but a co-worker, would it be too much if he approached the company's HR department and asked them to step in?
At this point, Keegan is beyond fed up and he needs a solution now! So it only made sense that he came to Stacey and J Sbu for some much-needed advice.
