Chatsworth mother shares terrifying story of how her daughter was kidnapped

Stacey and J Sbu reached out to Erica Govender to find out what exactly happened to her daughter:
A mother and father's greatest fear is that anything should happen to their children.

As parents, you only want what's best for your child and even though you wish you could protect them for their entire lives, the world doesn't work that way and we can't control everything.
Chatsworth mom, Erica Govender, had to experience a situation just like this during the week.

Erica has an 11-year-old daughter and was under the impression that she was just outside in the garden when realisation set in.
The family had just had dinner and were looking for little Erin when they noticed she was nowhere to be found. They knew that it was very likely that she would have a phone with her and so they tried to get in contact with her to find out where she was.

Erica then received the messages that made her heart stop and panic set in - her daughter had been kidnapped:

Erica decided to post about this traumatising experience on social media in order to create more awareness amongst families.
Her PSA was met with a lot of speculation as people started to question the legitimacy of the situation, but Erica insists that this event did take place and she would never lie about something as severe as this:

Luckily, Erin safely returned home and hopefully, she will be able to put this distressing experience behind her and move on.
Unfortunately, not everyone can be as fortunate and many kids are still daily targets.

It's important to keep an eye out for any suspicious characters in your neighbourhood and around schools, and not to let your kids out of your sight in public spaces.
