After seeing this series viewers were fuming.
They took to social media to speak out of behalf of the victims. Users criticised that it humanised the true crimes of the notorius serial killer with victims' families also speaking out about feeling "re-traumatised."
The backlash has caused many others users to take people's word for it and boycott the show.

Others argue that Netflix presented the story from an objective perspective and it is up to individual interpretation.
One Twitter user says, "I'm glad that people are beginning to speak out about their thoughts on Dahmer. We have come so far and we forgot how divided people were not so long ago. Let this be a lesson to us to have the tough conversations."

To further your understanding, this limited series comes at a time where the world is craving true-crime shows.
Defending the show in a promotional video, Evan Peters, who plays Dahmer, said: "We had one rule going into this from Ryan [Murphy], that it would never be told from Dahmer’s point of view. It’s called The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, but it’s not just him and his backstory: It’s the repercussions, it’s how society and our system failed to stop him multiple times because of racism, homophobia. It’s just a tragic story."
Netflix has not responded to the controversy as yet.
More will be shared on this story when available.
Don’t want to watch #DahmerNetflix but want to know what the hell happened? Well Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested in 1991. He killed 17 men and boys over more than 13 years without capture. Only 1 of his victims escaped. He served 2 yrs in prison before being k worded by an inmate. pic.twitter.com/Ej0Cswzxn0
