#UnpopularOpinion: 'If you invite me for your birthday dinner than you should pay'
Updated | By Damon Beard
A listener wrote in to tell us why she thinks birthday dinners are a scam.

Listen as East Coasters weigh in on whether or not you should pay for a birthday dinner if you're invited.
Hi Damon
My Unpopular Opinion is very simple.
If you invite me for your birthday dinner then you should pay.
I won't take out a cent cause I hadn't budgeted for this.
How are you going to make someone else pay for an event that you initiated?
If you don't have money for a birthday party there is no shame in that.
Just don't have one instead of scamming us so you can have your gathering using our money.
If you invite me to a birthday dinner I will bring a gift and that's the end of it.

If a person invites you for their birthday dinner, who do you think should pay?
