#UnpopularOpinion: Arranged marriages are better than normal relationships
A listener sent us a message to tell us why she thinks having an arranged marriage is better than a conventional relationship.

Dear Damon.
I’ve heard your new segment called Unpopular Opinion and I love it, so I thought I would mail you and share mine.
I really think finding love and being swept off your feet is very overrated.
I think arranged marriages should make a comeback. As long as both the man and woman consent to their parents finding them a partner.
I think conventional dating wastes a lot of time and involves a lot of heartbreak and abuse.
Whereas in arranged marriages both of you know what you want and you are ready to settle down and not play games.
I also feel like having the buy-in of both the families and parents makes arranged marriages more likely to succeed because they both support you and you don’t have your parents hating your partner.
You also are more likely to understand each other’s customs and beliefs.
But hey that’s just my opinion.
