Interracial kiss on popular soapie '7de Laan' causes a stir on social media

An interracial kiss on prime-time soapie '7de Laan' has
enraged fans.
Following an episode which aired on the 15th of January, some viewers of '7de Laan' have threatened to boycott the show.
This is after one of the show’s lead actresses, Carina Nel, who plays the character Alexa, kissed actor Nicholas Nkuna, whose character Fikani is her love interest in the show.

According to the Rapport, Nel has even received hate mail for the scene.
The soapie has defended their decision to have an interracial love storyline.
In a statement posted via Twitter, the producers of the show said that they believe that love knows no colour and it was important to reflect that.
