man’s call live on air for everyone to hear.
I am not easily shocked, as when you work in radio you expose yourself to some of the craziest stories out there. When you first start out in radio you’re always shifted onto the late night slots whilst you learn the desk and how to talk properly on air. It’s also the best timeslot for crazy listener stories, so you learn to grow a thick skin and to just roll with the punches.
When I introduced the feature “WTF” to East Coast Urban, I was ready to take on any topic. We have spoken about anything and everything, and I’ve always got something to say. This time, however, was different. Tonight I was knocked off my feet.

The story goes as follows: Simon got an email from someone and showed it to me. He told me the guy had left his phone number for us to call him. I wasn’t convinced with this story, so I said let’s call him. We arranged to call him and warned him beforehand that we’d be recording it. What happened next klapped us for six.
