Catching one of your parents in a compromising position

A KZN listener sent me an email today requesting my advice. The listener saw her mother, who is married to her father, kissing another man. 

She was both shocked and disgusted. She has a very close relationship with both her parents, who have seemingly been in a very loving and happy marriage. She is now conflicted as to what to do with this information. On one side she wants to confront her mother and ask her to confess to her father, but on the other hand, she is contemplating going straight to her father with the news.

I personally would not tell my father if I was in her position. I also would not confront my mother, I am a person who internalises a lot of things. I would be resentful of my mother and only bring up what I know if the burden of what I saw became too much for me to keep secret. 

I decided to share the email with the rest of KZN and the response was mixed. We had a listener call in and share that her father suffered a heart attack after her mother was caught having numerous affairs. She advised the listener who sent the email to tell her father what she saw.
