Surfers go head-to-head with shark at Jeffrey's Bay event

History repeats itself at this year's World Surf League.
A great white shark wanted to be a part of the action during the World Surf League quarter-final heats at Jeffery's Bay this past Wednesday.
Sharks are no strangers to this event, as a similar incident occurred during the 2015 competition.

According to Times Live, the sea creature was spotted by safety crews during Heat 1 between Gabriel Median and Mick Fanning.
The shark was reported to be heading straight for the surfers. Yikes!

This resulted in the suspension of the competition, because no one wants to get in the way of a great white!
The video below shows the 2015 shark encounter at the competition where a surfer had to fight off a great white during the finals of the WSL.
