Your day will be better after reading this.
71-year-old pensioner Joao Pereira de Souza rescued a penguin in 2011.
De Souza is a retired bricklayer and part-time fishermen from a small island village just outside Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
In 2011, he discovered a helpless, starving penguin stuck on the rocks and covered in oil.
De Souza rescued the penguin, nursed him back to health and named him Dindim.
After a week, de Souza released the penguin back in to the ocean.
After a few months, the penguin returned to the island and recognised de Souza.
The penguin returns for eight months of every year to visit de Souza.
De Souza says, “He arrives in June and leaves to go home in February and every year he becomes more affectionate as he appears even happier to see me.”
He says, "I love the penguin like it's my own child and I believe the penguin loves me.”
This is just too beautiful. We love it.
