The most weirdest excuses for being late to work

There are two types of employees, those who are early for work and those who are constantly late. 

For the latter, making up excuses is the only way to explain themselves. The first few excuses are normally pretty standard but can sometimes become pretty elaborate over time. 

CareerBuilder recently released a list of excuses that employees have used to explain the reason they were late for work. Take a look at some of the excuses below. They're absolutely hilarious! 

• I forgot it wasn't the weekend.

• I had petroleum jelly in my eyes.
• I had to watch a soccer game that was being played overseas.
• The wind blew the deck off my house.
• I overslept because my kids changed all the clocks and watches in the house.
• I was cornered by a moose.
• My mother locked me in the closet.
• The pizza I ordered was late being delivered, and I had to be home to accept/pay for it.
• The sunrise was so beautiful that I had to stop and take it in.
• My mother-in-law wouldn't stop talking.
