Mags shares her thoughts on her first week on East Coast Drive

It’s been one week since Mags joined East Coast Drive as co-host and she has decided to share how things have been going.

Mags 1 week down

So, week one down for me as the new co-host of East Coast Drive and it’s been quite an interesting ride.

When the opportunity came up for me to join the team, it was an interesting surprise, but as I got to know the team and the values of the station, it was simply a no-brainer for me. I mean, who wouldn’t want to join KZN’s number one radio station…again?

My whole life I have mostly been surrounded by my guy friends – so being the only female on the team isn’t an issue for me. I get to be the rose amongst the thorns and the Cinderella of the ball.

Week one has been interesting, exciting, and very busy for me. I feel great to be part of such a dynamic team. Each member is so unique in what they bring to the preparation of the show and the on-air vibe too. Naturally I was a bit nervous at first, but as I got to know everyone, the nerves settled and it was like riding a bicycle - I was back on-air and riding the airwaves again with no issues. Phat Joe has been instrumental in making me feel right at home throughout the transition process.

Behind the scenes, there have been loads of laughs and high fives. The past week has felt amazing. I feel so comfortable with the guys and I feel like I’ve known them for a long time. After all, we are here to deliver a brilliant show so we are all here to do what it takes to make that happen. The fact that we get on and we can laugh while at ‘work’ is just a bonus, otherwise it's high intensity for the few hours in delivering brilliance.

All in all, it’s been simply spectacular and I cannot wait for many more great radio moments, laughs, and memories with the guys and the East Coast Radio family.
