Breathtaking snowfall across KZN as cold front sweeps through the province

With an intense cold front sweeping across parts of the country, KwaZulu-Natal residents woke up to chilly winds and rain on Saturday morning.
Many residents around KZN - and the country - woke up to a winter wonderland, as snowflakes trickled down throughout the night.
WATCH: Snow falls in KZN as cold snap hits province
Temperatures are set to dip below 0°C in some areas.
- Kokstad will continue to shiver tonight with the mercury plunging to -7°C there.
- Mooi River and Giants Castle will drop to -5°C and Pietermaritzburg 2°C.
The South African Weather Service has issued two warnings.
- If you live in the southwestern parts of KZN, disruptive snowfalls are expected today which may pose a threat to life and property and leave some mountain passes and communities temporarily inaccessible.
- Forecaster Julius Mahlangu says heavy showers this weekend may lead to localised flooding over the province's eastern parts.g special, too - snowfall.

“Eighty percent over the southern parts of the province, including Durban and Pietermaritzburg.
“We also have an alert for snowfall for the areas around the Drakensberg, which is extending into the Midlands of KZN, including places around Mooi River as well as Estcourt."
All beaches in eThekwini Municipality are closed this weekend.
