Male student expelled from school for long hair
A student in Limpopo has been expelled from school for having hair that was three centimeters too long, going against the school's rules.
School rules... I remember there being a million (or what seemed to be) of them when I was at school. Don’t laugh, it was a long time ago!

Some of them made sense and were meant to bring discipline and order, as well as a sense of uniformity. Others, however, seemed draconian and outdated, even back then. For instance, wearing a blazer (jacket) when in school uniform in public and hair not touching your collar, ahh to be young and have long hair.
In this instance, a Grade 10 pupil was expelled from school for having hair that did not adhere to the school rules. The boy's hair was four cm's long, whereas the school only permits one cm long hair. The case was taken to High Court and the school was ordered to reinstate the boy into school.

There was also a case last year of a young Durban boy who was sent home due to having an exotic hairstyle and was given one day to ‘sort it out’, given that it was a very short, one afternoon seemed a bit ridiculous and the boy ended up sitting at home until his sister (also his guardian), who was an advocate, got involved. Then there was the case of the young lady with the afro that caused outrage.
Without digging too deep, what school rules do you remember from your school days that you may have disagreed with? Of course being a pupil or student in today's terms you had no say in the rules.
