W24 compiled a list of what you can do if your parents disagree with your partner of choice:
- Communicate: Although you may not be able to reason with your parents, let them know how you feel and do not make things turn sour.
- Be honest with yourself: It will not be an easy journey but you have to be honest about whether or not you can live with your decision to either stay with your partner or cut ties.
- Take care of your relationship: There's no doubt that the revelation will cause some tension or feelings of insecurity but be sure to make your partner feel at ease and supported.
