Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
This lady has spoken out after someone called her wedding ring "pathetic".
A marriage should be based on love and not the size of the diamond on a wedding ring. However, some people take wedding and engagement rings far too seriously.

When Ariel McRae and Quinn decided to take their relationship to the next level, they did not expect to receive such negative criticism.
While shopping for a wedding ring at a local store, a lady passed comment that made Quinn’s face fall. The lady said to the sales person: "Can you believe some men get these as engagement rings. How pathetic.”

Ariel and Quinn are both very hard workers, but do not earn enough to buy flashy things, especially rings. Quinn was hurt by the comment and kept checking with Ariel if she would be okay with the simple ring that he chose?
Ariel has since said that she would marry Quinn even if the ring came from a claw machine.
Ariel posted a long post on Facebook in which she defended her ring and the fact that it isn't the ring that matters, but rather the love that they share. The post has received over 50,000 shares.
