What's the lamest breakup excuse you've ever heard?

'It's not you, it's me,' 'we need a break,' 'work commitments', and the list goes on. Jane wants to hear the lamest breakup excuses you've ever heard.

At some point or the other, we all have to visit heartbreak hotel, and it's never easy.

I recently met a girl whose boyfriend broke up with her because his mother didn't like her. In the breakup (which happened over text) he said that he didn't want to meet face-to-face, but would have to end it as his mom didn't think she was marriage material.
Firstly, they have only been dating for six months, so the talk of marriage seems a little premature, and who at the age of 34 breaks up over text because your mom's not happy? Seriously!

I've put together some of the lamest, hurtful, and just plain strange reasons people have given for breaking up with someone:
