Unnecessary packaging is more than a pet peeve - it’s a major contributor to the waste that ends up in our landfills. One company is looking at how you can get rid of your waste by chewing it, rather than chucking it.
Ello Jellois an Indonesian concept for seaweed-based food packaging and cutlery that’s not only fully disposable but edible too. So that means fewer wrappers in the dump and more opportunities to boost the nutritional value people get out of their purchases at the same time.

As Chris Reid, Trend Researcher at the International Trend Institute explained in his recent conversation with Jane Linley-Thomas, it’s actually a really old solution to a modern problem. And if they can make sure they capitalise on modern diet trends (they are gluten-free after all), then it shouldn’t be a big shift for people to embrace this movement.
