R600k shopping accident causes woman to faint
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
Well, this woman definitely won't be shopping here again. Ouch!
We have all been into a shop and seen a sign with the famous 'lovely to look at, lovely to hold, if it gets broken, consider it sold' sign. And if you're a parent reading this, you will surely remember the time that you cautioned your little one when stepping into a store that has really expensive and antique items?

Just the fear of having something broken in a store with expensive items is enough to send anyone into a flat panic.
Sounds nightmarish, right? Well, can you believe that this situation happened to an adult woman? I came across this story about a tourist from China who accidentally broke a Jade bracelet worth $44,000 (which is roughly R600k) causing the bracelet to split in two. When she was told she had to pay up, she simply couldn't bear the news.
With onlookers nearby, the woman had a panic attack and fainted in front of everyone. Thankfully there were people around to assist her. Shame, when you check the video you can see she looks completely gutted by it! Hey, I can't blame her. I guess I would be too if I dropped and broke a bracelet that's worth over R600k!

Although the sign 'lovely to look at, lovely to hold, if it gets broken, consider it sold' doesn't quite apply to her as she didn't hold it, the 'consider it sold' part is very, very relevant. Eek!
Have you had an experience where you have accidentally broken something in a shop? What was it and how much was it worth?
