No second date? What went wrong?
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
Let's admit it, first dates are awkward but having to decide whether you want to see the person for a second time is even more grueling.
Back in the day when I was hitting the dating scene, I met a guy at a club - remember Burn on Umbilo Road? It was my weekly Wednesday destination. I loved it there and every week it was such fun. It was on one of those nights that I met a guy who seemed nice and we screamed across the dance floor to each other over the loud music. He bought me a drink and it was pleasant.

As the evening drew to a close, he asked for my number...
The next day he called and asked me out for dinner. I went and all was fab until during dinner he took off his shoes (I know) and low and behold he had webbed feet!

I swear, no word of a lie, and it's no wonder he took his shoe off because it was obviously cramped in there. Call me shallow but from that moment I just knew it wasn't going to work. You can guess what happened there, no second date. Sorry, guy.
With that in mind, let Darren Maule educate you on what NOT to do on a date, in this video:
Here a few tips for what might get you the coveted second date (there are no guarantees here, just a little advice):
- Don’t come straight from work in your business suit
- Don’t bring up past romances
- Be on time
- Do not share your requirements of a life partner
- Have fun, laugh and smile!
Now I want to know from you, what is the WORST thing that's happened to you on a date that guaranteed that there would be no happily ever after?
