'I just don't understand how someone, who is supposed to be protecting our kids, could behave in this manner?' - Jane Linley-Thomas. Warning: Not for sensitive viewers.

It's been a heavy few weeks with regards to the nature of some of the viral videos that are doing the rounds on the Internet.
I need to reiterate that these pieces have not been chosen because of their click-bait appeal, but more to encourage us to talk about more serious issues that we face in society, may it be depression, abuse or accidents on our roads.

On Thursday, I chose to touch on a piece that I wish I'd never watched, and when it first landed in my inbox a few days ago, I read the headline and ignored it. I wanted nothing to do with it in fact. As the days passed, more and more emails were sent my way by, in particular, mothers asking me if this was a hoax, so I decided to watch it. I wish I hadn't. It's one of those things that you wish you could erase from your mind.
This brief footage, which was captured on a hidden nanny cam, shows a nanny from Namibia flinging a small baby into a cot like a rag doll. The way in which this beast holds the child by one arm and then tosses its little body is truly alarming. How can she behave in such a way? Can you imagine how the mother must have reacted watching her child being treated like this while reviewing the footage?

Honestly, if that was my child, you would have to put me in a restraining jacket. I would go absolutely off my head.
Warning: This video is not for sensitive viewers.
According to Metro, the mom informed the authorities and the nanny has been arrested, and will make an appearance on charges of child abuse, assault, and even attempted murder. I really hope that the law will take its course and that justice will be served.
As a working mother, I know how stressful it was leaving my three small children at home while I went to work. Luckily, we have been blessed with a domestic goddess who is one of the kindest and most wonderful souls on the planet, and she has been with us for way before the kids arrived. I searched for her for a long, long time, and boy was she worth the wait. The love I have for her and her family is immense.
Don't get me wrong, I never stop worrying about their safety and now them being older, there are different worries as they become more adventurous. We have already had two fast-paced emergency missions to get stitches. Kids will be kids, I guess.

If you are a parent, you know that all you want is the best for your child. I wanted to bring this video to your attention to urge you to thoroughly screen the person you are employing to look after your child. The fact that this hidden camera was set-up shows that there must have been a cause for concern. Don't wait till it's too late.
The heartbroken mother from Namibia took to her Facebook to share a message of thanks to everyone who has rallied around her and her family during this traumatic experience.
My love and light to you and your family always. I am so glad that your little one is safe and sound. X
