Since Facebook came into my life, I have become less than useless in remembering dates of good friends' birthdays. Also, thanks to Facebook memories, my grey matter is jogged and I get to relish in events of the past. I love it!
But even with Facebook so kindly reminding us of days of cake and celebration, I seem to still get things and dates mixed up. If you're a mom you would know that juggling a family and a career is not always the easiest task.

A few years ago, Mr T and I went to a work event and someone blurted over the table 'Happy Wedding Anniversary you two'. We looked at each other bewildered. 'What? Who? Us?', we replied. Let's just say that we were a bit taken aback. Funny how having three kids in nappies can cloud one's memory for milestones, as survival takes the driver's seat. Ha! We had such a laugh.
This past Saturday was my sister's birthday. Jessica lives in Cape Town and is 5 years younger than me. I have 18th November etched into my mind, but somehow I still managed to mess it up and forget. Bright and early on Friday the 17th, the kids gathered around my phone to sing happy birthday to their aunt. Yup, I was a day early. I mean, really? Oh well, better early than never I guess?
