KZN woman relives her horrific robbery experience with Jane

With robberies and hijackings on the rise daily, are you someone that lives in fear when you step out of your home?
On Monday morning, a great friend of mine who is six-months pregnant was out doing some shopping, when out of the blue, the shop next door was held up at gunpoint. The five men casually walked around and went about their business.

She and the other patrons were locked inside the shop next door, and at one stage, my friend and her bump hid behind a display as not to be seen by the gunmen.

Wow! What a terrifying experience. It's sad to know that these types of things occur daily in our beautiful country. When paging through the newspapers or checking the Newswatch page, I always come across sad stories such as these, and it's really a tragedy that it's the innocent people who find themselves in these types of situations.

I usually don't live in fear when I step out of my home, but I must say that that I'm always faced with the choice of if I should go and collect my new bank card today or gave it skip for another day.
