Jane: How could a father do something so horrific?
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
After reading a disturbing story about a father who hung his 11-month-old daughter and himself on Facebook live, Jane decided to share her thoughts on this truly devastating story.
Ever since I heard about the little seven-year-old boy being strangled by his dad in Phoenix, I have dreamt and thought of him. I kept replaying, as macabre as it is, ‘how did the boy get involved in that altercation’?

Then I came across this story of a father who took his innocent 11-month-old daughter's life by hanging her while streaming it on Facebook Live. According to IOL, the 21-year-old man from Thailand streamed the horrific incident from an abandoned hotel rooftop.
The wife of the man noticed the live video then alerted the police. It is reported that her husband would abuse her regularly and even accuse her of being involved in affairs.

I find it so disturbing that these innocent children get used as emotional collateral by these clearly unstable adults who are meant to be paving the way and guiding these little souls. It’s truly alarming.
We are now in a day and age where social media shares this kind of darkness for the world to see, and I find it most unsettling and devastating. I do hope that Facebook will consider reviewing their policies on what content goes out on social media. Imagine if you, or heaven forbid your child, come across this online? The effects of seeing something like this will be traumatic and will haunt a person for the rest of their lives.
