Jacob Zuma weighs in on Zodwa Wabantu's behaviour
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
High crime statistics, famine, unemployment rates, and sanitation issues are just some of the things a President should focus on, but President Jacob Zuma has rather chosen to speak out about the less-than-feminine behaviour of Zodwa Wabantu...
Listen as KZN and Jane weigh in on the topic in the podcast, then read more below:
Socialite and entertainer Zodwa Wabantu is in the spotlight after being criticised by President Jacob Zuma for her 'provocative' personality.
To say Zodwa has confidence would be an understatement. It takes me forever to feel confident in my clothes, let alone rolling around with no undies on like Zodwa.

I admire this lady's courage and the fact that she doesn't need the validation of others to keep her afloat. She turns a blind eye to folk who attack her struggles with the English language (side note: how are you when not talking your mother tongue?) or for the way she conducts herself and the way she dresses.
Her behavior at a New Year's gig got the President all hot and bothered and he sent a reprimand her way via her manager DJ Tira. According to Times Live, “Zuma was not happy with the way Zodwa dressed and disapproved of her recent message that went viral on social media."

The reason for the President's commentary was her New Year's performance on stage, where she revealed to her audience that she made R35,000 for dancing and encouraged women to use sexual favours to enjoy a better life.
I would think that the President would have more pressing matters to concern himself with? The antics of a celebrity - or anyone for that matter, and how they choose to live their lives, is not any of his business. To each their own, right?!

DJ Tira has said that he will not ask the entertainer to alter her personality as that is her huge fan drawcard, however, "Zodwa Wabantu's language will be 'cleaner' in 2018".
Do you think our girls need someone like Zodwa to look up to as being free and transparent or do you agree with the thoughts that she is exactly what the youth doesn't need as a role model?
