Like any relationship, more especially a work-place romance, there are some rules you just have to follow for your own sanity and to save face at the same time.
- Think carefully before you dive in head first - you don't want the unnecessary drama of things not working out.
- If you've met someone that peaks your interest, don't go around telling other work colleagues. You don't want the news spreading like wildfire.
- Keep it professional. It still is work after all.
- Set up ground rules with your partner.
- Adhere to workplace policy. You don't want to find yourself in a situation where you could lose your job.
Surely, as adults, regardless of how things pan out, you don't mix relationship drama at work? Or is that a totally unrealistic comment?
I want to know from you. Have to ever dated a colleague and how did that go for you?
