How old is too old to ask your parents for money?
With the cost of living going up each year, it's no wonder that people are taking longer than expected to be fully independent of their parents. But when do we stop being the dependents?
Asking your parents for money is the pits! No matter what age you are and what the circumstance is, it's not a comfortable ask. However, it's easier when you're younger because if you're older, things get a little awks.

I mean, today’s kids have their work cut out for them when it comes to investing in property, and that’s just the ones with jobs! If you're without a job, how does a person even begin to survive?!
Well, a new study suggests four in five people are fine with asking their parents for rent money and I cannot say I'm shocked to read this. Things are expensive and sometimes we all need a helping hand, so pride goes out the window, unfortunately.

According to Business Tech, at the end of 2016 in KwaZulu-Natal, the average rental amounted to R6,377.81, and the average monthly salary, according to The South African, was R14,154 - leaving an individual with R7,777 for all other expenses, including fuel, which we all know is expensive, no matter how many price decreases we see.
This got me thinking about Mr T and I. Just a few years ago we bought our dream home. Truth be told we couldn't have done it without the help of our parents.

With the exorbitant cost of living it's not surprising that parents are used as life rafts at times, and that's assuming they can be the support and not needing a lifeline of their own. It's rough out there!
