Has the tradition of marriage become outdated?

If you had a choice between a traditional marriage or a renewable seven-year contract, what would you choose?

If you look around, how many people in your life are happily married? More often than not, I see marriages struggle along and in some cases walking the pothole road 'for the sake of the children'.

I remember at school being one of a few girls whose parents were still married - mine have been married for 42 years this December. What an achievement, right?!
As you know, love and relationships change as time and experiences happen. That lust and infatuation of new love is very intoxicating and as you move from that to engaged, married, and then onto parenthood, the relationship that was is very different. Also marrying young adds the impact of not really knowing what you are looking for.
I got married at the age of 28. For Mr T and I, we met at the perfect time. We were both in the same space in our lives and hence walk to the same beat. I can totally vouch that first and foremost, the relationship needs to be built on a deep and connected friendship, a soul connection because as life starts to throw curve balls, that depth of connection, love, and respect is the place you draw strength from.

I get it, not all relationships are like that and hence my question to you is: Is marriage an outdated tradition or would a seven-year contract be a little more appealing to you?
