According to Health24, ADHD is a condition which starts during childhood and can persist into adulthood. It affects a person with symptoms that include the inability to concentrate, frustration, and even impulsiveness.

Jessica McCabe, who used to suffer from the condition, has shared an inspiring message of thanks to her mother for 'drugging' her and listening to her when she needed her.

I found this letter to her mother so honest and so what I needed to see. I am one of those mothers who fought for years to not medicate my child. We went the route of extensive assessments, consults with different pediatricians, natural tonics, change in diet, and still the words 'not coping' and 'extremely distracted' came up followed by those letters ADHD.

The guilt I felt just thinking about medicating was debilitating. Then again, the choice to not medicate and see my child being swallowed and losing confidence was way worse.

Then eventually after a lot of tears, roundabout conversations, and arriving at the place of going the medication route, I began to feel as though I was allowing my child the ability to feel a sense of achievement and believing that he can do things without saying he 'can't do' before he even began the task at hand.

A letter like this eases my emotions, if even for a moment. All you want for your child is to be happy.

This letter shared by Jessica was a little gift, for me anyway. Check out the letter shared on her social media below:
