Burger King tackles bullying in new ad
This video from Burger King serves as an inspiration for how we can all work together to put an end to bullying.
In recent weeks, there has been an increase of videos on social media platforms showing violent acts of bullying in KZN schools. Just this week, our very own Terence Pillay from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly chatted about the state of bullying after videos of Durban students were doing the rounds on social media.

A video was created by Burger King which reveals some shocking statistics about bullying. 30% of students worldwide are bullied every year. 30% seems like a small amount, but why should any child be subjected to bullying? It must stop and it must stop now!
In the video, which was shot in a school setting, you could hear fellow students cheering and urging the bully to continue hitting the other student. Not many students are seen coming forward to end these 'fights'.

The Burger King video, in partnership with nobully.org, shows how people witness a staged act of bullying and do nothing to come forward and intervene.
The video stands to show people that just saying one kind word or stepping forward can mean the world to the person being bullied.
Now, we as East Coasters need to ask ourselves how we can end the cycle of bullying in our schools? Let this video be an inspiration to us all to inspire some change in our province.
