I mean, as parents day in and day out, we try and navigate our kids to make good choices and to use kind words. Social media, for all its pros, has a serious list of cons.
In the past few years we have seen the medium slay people who show intolerance and disrespect towards others, and, of course, those who don't fit 'the mould'.
This lady, Jennifer Knapp Wilkinson, has come forward after years of suppressing her shame and embarrassment after a photo of her falling out of her motorised scooter at a Walmart went viral. However, she has now spoken out, saying that she has a spine condition called spondylolisthesis, which causes the spine to slip out of place, which can cause her to fall. In addition to that, she is also a mental illness sufferer, has a depressive disorder, and a personality disorder.
Jennifer’s hope is that people will think first before making fun of people, as you may not know what struggles they go through. All she asks for is a bit of understanding and respect. Is that too much to ask for?
