Allowing your dog to lick your face could be life threatening
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
The best way your pooch knows how to show you love is to lick your face, but could it be hazardous to your health?
I am so not one of those people that lets a dog lick my face, so when I came across this article, it makes it even more cast in stone for me.

According to Mirror, if you thought that a dog's breath is the only thing that could kill you, well, you're wrong. Letting them lick your face could be a life-threatening thing due to the bacteria and possible diseases that they carry in their mouths and on their noses from raiding the trash (or your backyard) for treats.
Possible diseases that they could be carrying include ringworm and even diseases which cause severe sepsis infection. Ouch!
Don't get me wrong, I know folk who treat their dogs like their children and in saying that at times I squirm when a snot covered pooch face plants itself on my lips. Eek!
A lady I know lives alone and her dogs are her life. Her couches are covered in dog hair, they sit at the table when she eats and yes they share her bed - and she let's them lick her face and mouth.

Although this isn't about me, I guess each to their own. Some treat their dogs like family and even as their own children. But is it worth it in the end?

Are your pets part of your family to the extent that you let them lick your face and sleep in your bed? Or are you more of a 'dogs belong outside' type of person?
