Updated | By East Coast Urban
It has been a year and a few months since the passing of a man who still lights up the dance floors with his husky deep voice and nostalgic hit songs. Listen as East Coast Urban with Thandolwethu speaks to an emotional Mpho Tshabalala, Mandoza's widow.
Listen to part 1 and 2 of the interview below:
Mandoza is South African music royalty. He is known for 'Nkalakatha'. The track became a crossover hit and reached the top of the charts on both traditionally black and white radio stations.
His talents were discovered by self proclaimed king of kwaito, Arthur Mafokate.
Mandoza formed the group "Chiskop" along with three childhood friends. The group achieved great success and was widely seen to be at kwaito's forefront act.
