TV commentator and former tennis pro Doug Adler has been criticised for comparing professional tennis player Venus Williams to a ‘gorilla’ at the Australian Open. He even used the term ‘charging’.

Doug apologised after receiving negative reaction from Twitter users. Doug said that he used the word ‘guerilla’ to describe her tennis tactics, and did not mean to compare her to a ‘gorilla’. Doug was removed from commentating for the remainder of the tournament.
One can understand how easy it is to get the two words mixed up as they both sound the same.
Do you think he was being racist or is everyone just mixing up his words? Take a listen to the clip below and decide for yourself.
